CS 128

Spring 2027 - Legende Section

Introduction to Computer Science II

Taught by Professor Jule Legende (Schatz) ยท University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Prof. Legende (previously known as Prof. Schatz) will again teach a section of CS 128! This course teaches you the fundamentals you need to succeed in CS 225 and beyond. We cover the same material as other sections of CS 128, but with a different teaching style.

What to expect

A few of the course policies designed to support you.

Interactive Lecture
Three times a week there will be an interactive lecture, offered both in person and recorded. Attendance is not required, but it earns you extra credit!
Second Chance Exams
Sometimes we just need a second chance. There are three exams, and each one has a second chance retake, so one bad day does not ruin your grade.
Professor Office Hours
After each class (three times a week), I personally hold office hours to connect and clear up any misunderstandings.
Additional Material
For each exam, I provide plenty of practice problems to help you feel fully prepared.
AI Conscious Material
My PhD is in AI, so I understand both its strengths and its limits. I have designed the coursework to give you the tools you need to succeed in an AI world.
Three Large Projects
Each multi-week project helps you solidify concepts and build something you can be proud of. Weekly checkpoints keep the workload manageable.
